Open AX and navigate to the Inventory management module

In the Journals area, expand Item transactions and click “Bills of materials”.

This will open the Bills of materials journal window.

Click the “New” button at the top.

This will add a new line.

Choose “INVBOM” for the Name, and give it a Description (Use the customer name and product).

Then click the “Lines” button at the top.

This will open the Journal lines window.

Click the “New” button at the top to add a new line.

On the new line below, choose the actual shipped date.

Make sure “BOM line” is unchecked.

Choose Item number406LV

Enter the Quantity of 406LV to bill the customer.

Then click the “Inventory dimensions” tab.

 

 

 

 

On the Inventory dimensions tab, choose the following:

  • Site – SAMS
  • Warehouse – SAMS
  • Batch number – 406LV
  • Location – SM-Clear

Click the Overview tab to continue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Back on the Overview tab, click the “New” button at the top to add another line.

Again choose the Actual shipped date.

This time, check the “BOM line” checkbox.

Choose Item number 406

Enter the quantity of 406 that was delivered. (Make sure this is NEGATIVE)

Click the “Inventory dimensions” tab to continue.

Choose the following:

  • Site – SAMS
  • Warehouse – SAMS
  • Batch number - SAMS
  • Location – LiveLoad

Click the “Overview” tab to continue.

Click the “New” button again.

Choose the Actual shipped date

Make sure “BOM line” is checked.

Choose Item number 6405 (Gasser A)

Enter the quantity of Gasser A delivered.

Click the Inventory dimensions tab to continue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the Inventory dimensions tab, choose the following:

  • Site – SAMS
  • Warehouse – SAMS
  • Batch number – Gasser
  • Location – GASSER

Click the “Overview” tab to continue.

On the Overview tab choose the Actual shipped date.

Make sure the “BOM line” checkbox is checked.

Choose Item number 6406 (Gasser B).

Enter the quantity shipped to the customer. (Make sure this is NEGATIVE)

Click the “Inventory dimensions” tab to continue.

 

On the Inventory dimensions tab, choose the following:

  • Site – SAMS
  • Warehouse – SAMS
  • Batch number – Gasser
  • Location – GASSER

Click the Overview tab to continue.

On the Overview tab, take one last look to make sure you’ve chose the correct items/quantities.

Click the “Validate” button at the top.

This will open the Validate lines window.

Click the “OK” button

You should receive an Infolog window stating “Journal is OK

Click the “Close” button to continue.

 

You will be returned to the Journal lines window.

Click the “Post” button at the top.

This will open the Post journal lines window.

Click the “OK” button.

You should receive an Infolog stating “Journal has been posted

You will be returned to the Journal lines window.

Click the “Close” button to continue.

You will be returned to the Bills of materials journals window.

Click the “Close” button to continue.

 

 

 

 

 

Now we need to create a corresponding Sales order.

Navigate to the Sales and marketing module.

In the Common area, expand “Sales orders

Click “All sales orders

This will open the All sales orders list page.

In the New area of the Ribbon, click the “Sales order” button.

 

This will open the Create sales order window.

Choose the Customer account.

Choose Site (SAMS)

Choose Warehouse (b)

Enter the Customer requisition # and PO# (Use the same for both if you don’t have a Req#)

Click the “OK” button to continue.

 

 

This will open the Sales order window.

Choose the Item number (406LV)

Enter the Quantity sold.

In the Sales order lines menu area, click the “Update line” dropdown.

Click “Pick” in the Process area.

This will open the Pick window.

In the top area, click the “Add picking list update” button.

This will add the line to the Picking list updates area at the bottom.

Choose the Batch number406LV

Choose the LocationSM-Clear

 

 

 

 

In the Picking list updates menu area at the bottom, click the “Register all” button.

The bottom line should be removed.

Note that the picking status is now checked and Issue status is now Picked.

Click the “Close” button to continue.

 

 

You will be returned to the Sales order window.

Select the Pick and pack tab

Click the “Packing slip” button in the Generate area of the Ribbon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This will open the Packing slip posting window.

Choose the Packing slip date. (The date it was actually delivered)

Make sure Quantity is “Picked

Make sure Posting is checked.

Click the “OK” button.

If you receive a message stating “Warning: update has been selected, but no print” click the “OK” button to continue.

You will be returned to the Sales order window.

The Sales order is now complete and ready for Accounting to Invoice it.

Click the “Close” button to finish.
