Ever need to document why you did a Transfer Journal or Count Journal. Well, sometimes the attachment button tries to be a little obscure and tends to try to hide from us.
We are all used to seeing the “Attachments” button for Sales Orders and Purchase Orders, as in this screen shot. However, when it comes to Journal Entries we need to pull out our glasses and look a little closer to find this tiny button.
Here we are looking at a “Count Journal” that was done to correct date coded items controlled under our ATF license. Although there was a legitimate reason for making the adjustments, we needed to document what we did, and why it we did it in case of an audit. Notice the tiny paper clip at the bottom of the page; that is our “Attachments” button.
If we click on this button, we can now add notes, attach documents just as we would for a Sales Order or Purchase Order. As you can see here, we have attached a note (copy and pasted an email thread) and two files to this particular journal. Now we have provided complete visibility into why this journal entry was made.
