It has been a long time … Alabama has another National Championship since we last spoke … but then again that isn’t too long between is it … 😊.
OK, I assigned our pool of app passes (PowerApp by the app licenses) to the nb_production environment. They show up as available.
I guess the proof in the pudding will be when I let expire or remove the old individual Power Apps Plan 1 licenses, right?
Are you guys thinking about the Dynamics Summit in Houston this fall? Blake (my ERP admin) and I are planning to attend Covid willing. Always find time to attend some of your guy’s sessions in the PowerPlatform world!

**External Email - Use Caution**
Hey Mac – Long time. I hope you are doing well.
With the new per app passes, you shouldn't be assigning them directly to users. Instead you enable the for a Power Apps environment and then you specify that a given app is allowed to use Per App licenses.
I will be honest the per app passes still feel like they kind of work. So I will not be shocked if you run into an issue but fingers crossed you do not.
Here you can see where I added our 1 to my environment:
Does that help at all?

Subject: PowerApps Licensing SKU Changes
Nicola, I need some direction on this.
As you know Microsoft has changed their licensing SKU’s relating to PowerApps. Our current SKUs will no longer be valid soon. For the our Plan 1 apps (1 or 2 PowerApps) our licenses SKU will need to be updated very soon to the new licenses/SKU.
I have purchased the new SKUs for Plan 1 and Plan 2. My question is what is the best way to migrate over to these new SKU’s without disrupting availability for the users while migrating.
The old way was to manually assign a license to a user a user. My thought was to add the new license to the user and then remove the old one. However our partner we purchase these licenses from directed me to a Microsoft page that warns not to do this.
About Power Apps per app plans - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs
So my question again what is the best way to make this happen with disrupting Seth’s guys from using their current apps? Is this a bogus warning and I can continue to assign licenses as I have been doing?
Any direction appreciated.
Mac
