This is the method for remote-opening our downstairs door for employees that lock themselves out after hours when HelpDesk cannot answer the office phone:


** This will apply to whichever HelpDesk member is on call, as the voicemail will send a PagerDuty alert to said employee once the call is not answered locally. **



1) Dial (205) 802-5300 on any device. The call will immediately direct to a voicemail.


3) Once you've reached the voicemail, enter extension 7193     (this is the extension for the number associated with the door entry sensor.)


4) After entering the extension you will not hear anything, as it will connect the call to the door sensor unit. Ask the user to state their name, verify their identity, and then enter '00' to unlock the door.
