How to Release Products From One Company to Another

At times we may receive a request to setup a new Released Product in one company i.e. NLLC and we find that the Product already exists in another company i.e. NBMS.  There is a Built-In process to handle this in D365 and here is how to use it.

First, navigate to the Product Information Management Module and click on Products to open the All Products list page as in step 1 below.  In the All Products list page filter by the Product Number then at the top of the page click the Release Products button as in step 2 below to open the Release Products screen.

In the Release Products screen, you will see the Select products to release radio button is selected along with the Product name and Product number, here you will simply click the Next button as in Step 1 below.

Next you will see the Select companies to release to radio button is selected.  Here you will Check the Company(‘s) you want to release this product to as in Step 2 below then, click the  Next button as in Step 3 below.

Finally, you will see the Confirm selection radio button is selected.  In this step you will make certain the Show Infolog upon failure switch is set to Yes.  Then, click the Finish button as in Step 4 below.

You should now have the Product you selected to release to the other company available in that companies Released Products List Page.  There will be some additional setup required before the new Released Product can be used.   These settings can be configured exactly as they are configured in the company you copied from.
